First-time ‘SNL’ host Liev Schreiber is possessed by a ghost in latest ‘Saturday Night Live’ promo trailer [WATCH]

After a quarter-century in the biz, Liev Schreiber is set to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on November 10. However, based on the latest “SNL” promo, Schreiber won’t be hosting alone because he’s apparently been possessed by a ghost. Watch the “Saturday Night Live” preview trailer above.

In the clip, Schreiber joins cast members Leslie Jones and Mikey Day in a childlike game of jump roping and playful singing. But when it’s Schreiber’s turn to sing, his eyes turn red and smoke rises from his neck as he demonically rasps, “Get out of the house, you vile cretin.” His head spins around several times in a nod to Linda Blair in “The Exorcist,” and then he calmly says, “See you guys at rehearsal.”

While Schreiber is mostly known for his dramatic work in Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” and the Oscar-winning “Spotlight,” he’s also played more comedic roles in recent years including Victor Lustig in “Drunk History” and voicing characters in “BoJack Horseman” and “Robot Chicken.” “Ray Donovan” earned Schreiber three consecutive Emmy nominations as Best Drama Actor (2015-17), in addition to his bids for starring in “RKO 281” and narrating “UConn: The March to Madness,” “What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali” and “24/7.”

Schreiber will be joined by musical guest Lil Wayne when “SNL” airs live coast-to-coast on Saturday, November 10. NBC’s late-night staple is coming off one of its biggest years ever at the Emmys, bringing its total haul to 72 awards.
